Hi, My Name is Nathan Glynn. I'm a graphic and web designer looking for a new job. I'm currently working as a web designer for a company in Los Angeles. I used to work for them onsite, but when I moved back to Northern CA, my responsibilities changed from web design, print promotional materials, and technical drawings for use on a computer controlled router to occasional web updates. I'm not really moving forward with my work, and I'm not learning new things, so I'm looking for an additional job.
Aside from all of the education and work history stuff you can read in my résumé below, I'd like to let any potential employers know a few things about me. I'm tech savvy, I was the IT department at my last job, and I've been using Macs and PCs for the majority of my life. I'm not going to lose files because they aren't backed up, I won't freak out if my computer crashes, I'll fix it. I like to learn. If there's something I don't know how to do, I'll let you know, but then I'll go about figuring out how to do it. Any limitations I might have are temporary. Again, at my last job, we needed someone who knew AutoCAD, so I trained with it and started doing technical drawings with tolerances of less than a 32nd of an inch. I really like learning new things, whether it's a new software program, or anything else.
I also used to work at an Apple Store, working as a Mac Specialist, and Creative. I spent time on the floor talking to customers, solving problems, and helping people understand technology, and training our returning customers. I can talk to customers, or clients, and I can explain complex concepts in ways that pople can understand.
Unfortunately, as I had been working at an Apple Store until recently, I've been out of the loop in terms of getting paid to make things. As I get more work for hire or complete some personal projects, I will post those here, or in the blog section below. Until then, here is some of my previous work:
KK Audio - I designed this site and took many of the product photos
Blacklist Royals - I created the previous web page for the Nashville band, Blacklist Royals,
GD portfolio - my old graphic design portfolio (flash, will open in new window)
resumé - my resumé (pdf, new window)
shot through the heart - a t-shirt I designed:
some music clips I made, just me and my drum kit:
